One of the world’s largest shipping companies faced a serious incident when a fire broke out in the engine room, causing extensive damage to the ship’s structure—including two Mitsubishi S12R marine generator sets responsible for powering the vessel.
West Diesel quickly stepped in and took full responsibility for the project. The damaged generators were carefully dismantled and transported by truck to West Diesel’s main facility. There, our team carried out a thorough inspection and analysis of both units.
All necessary components were replaced to restore the generators to full working condition. Following the overhaul, both units were repainted and rigorously tested at West Diesel’s in-house 2MW testing facility—ensuring they performed like new and were ready for reliable marine operation.
Finally, West Diesel’s experienced mechanics reinstalled the generators on board, allowing the vessel to swiftly return to service—despite the extensive damage the units had originally sustained.
